Vermont Arts Council
(VAC) Partnership
Since 1965, the Vermont Arts Council has been Vermonts primary provider of funding, advocacy, and information for the arts in Vermont. The Vermont Arts Council is the only designated state arts agency in the U.S. that is also an independent nonprofit organization.
The Trust works with Vermont Arts Council (VAC) to expand direct support to Vermont artists and cultural practitioners through its Creation Grant program.
Programs include:
- Provide non-federal funding that expands the pool of flexible resources available to performing artists through Creation Grants
- Increase the size of Creation Grants for performing artists, recognizing the collaborative nature of dance, theatre and multidisciplinary work
- Launch a secondary grant opportunity for performing arts Creation grantees to advance their work beyond initial development with a community partner
By strengthening this existing statewide program, this investment will expand access and opportunity for Vermont performing artists and grow their practice in communities across Vermont and beyond.
